Murdoch 2.0

A couple of Guardian articles on the still-developing Rupert Murdoch / Interweb thing.

First off, “Internet means end for media barons, says Murdoch”

Rupert Murdoch last night sounded the death knell for the era of the media baron, comparing today’s internet pioneers with explorers such as Christopher Columbus and John Cabot and hailing the arrival of a “second great age of discovery”.

And then, defeating his own logic, the announcement that The Sun will team up with Myspace.com

The Sun is planning to give its website a massive boost by tying it to the recently acquired and hugely popular MySpace.com community and networking site to create a “MySun” online readers’ network.
