Apt’s links for October 25th
- Frequently Asked Questions | Openads - OpenAds appears to rule as a free ad-serving option.
- The Hottest Digital Agencies Around - Advertising Age - Digital - Ones to watch West-side.
- VQR » The Very Edge of the World - Virginia Quarterly Magazine (Via Roy - cheers Roy). Long, unpaginated articles with free access. The future of (literary) magazines?
- DUMBO - New York City Neighborhood - Brooklyn - NYC - NY Mag looks useful. Thanks, Khoi.
- The Dewey Decimal | Speechification - the best bit is … “the quite jaw dropping revelation … that the system’s sociology category groups together ‘women, gypsies and lunatics’”. Speechification is coming into its own again. Just wish they’d compress the MP3s a little less…

We recently moved Speechification onto Wordpress (so now we have comments, hurrah!). This means that various links have gone stale though. Since your post was a recent one, I hope you won’t mind me pointing out the new URL for that episode: http://speechification.com/2007/10/25/a-dewey-decimal/
Cheers

Hey, you make a good point. I save MP3s using these settings: CBR, 64kbps, Stereo. I’ve always done this because the Real Audio streams I’m hijacking are usually c. 45kbps, stereo. So I’ve always thought there was no point saving at better quality. Am I wrong? Should I use better quality? Steve
