Apt’s links for March 12th

  • #122 Moleskine Notebooks « Stuff White People Like – “This particular type of notebook is very expensive and was quite popular with writers and artists in the olden days. Needless to say, these are two properties that are highly coveted in the white community. In fact, it?s a good rule of thumb to know that white people like anything that old writers and artists liked: typewriters, journals, suicide, heroin, and trains are just a few examples.”
  • Kutiman, Big Media, and the Future of Creative Entrepreneurship | 43 Folders – “in the face of bullying, obfuscating, and throat-clearing from corporations with a homemade timetable for evolution, more and more folks like Kutiman will just keep making and releasing stuff. Cool stuff, ?illegal? stuff, niche stuff, and stuff that doesn?t require the benediction of a middle-aged executive in order to reach its precise audience with almost zero friction or overhead”
  • TG Daily – Fake iTunes cards challenge Apple’s iTunes business – “When Chinese hackers cracked the algorithm used to generate codes printed on real prepaid iTunes Gift Cards about six months ago, a whole new “business” began to flourish. Today, Chinese shopping sites are selling $200 voucher codes (that can be redeemed online at the iTunes Store) for as low as $2.60 each.” I didn’t know about that.
